Anti-Wrinkle Injection

Wrinkles are visible changes to the skin caused by frequent contraction of muscles, which are often seen on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes.

WHY CHOOSE Anti-Wrinkle Injection

Anti-wrinkle injections involve using small needles to administer a formula into muscles that are contracting too frequently and causing the wrinkles. A single 20-30 minutes session of injections helps to relax those muscles and effectively giving a smoother and more aesthetic appearance to the face lasting up to 3-4 months.

An anti-wrinkle injection using botulinum toxin (Botox) is the most effective treatment for preventing and softening lines and wrinkles. We only use licensed products that have been studied and tested for safety and efficacy. Botox from Allergan is the first injectable to be approved as a wrinkle treatment. It is the most common non-surgical aesthetic procedure performed worldwide.

Lines and wrinkles that can be treated with Botox:

  • Lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
  • Wrinkles at the outer corner of the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Creases on the bridge of the nose (bunny lines)
  • Vertical lines above the upper lip (lipstick lines)
  • Vertical wrinkles from the corners of the mouth down to the chin (marionette lines)
  • Horizontal lines on the forehead (forehead wrinkles)
  • Lines from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds)

Who can benefit from this treatment?

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used for people who have frown lines, wrinkles or forehead lines. The injections act to reduce the lines and are extremely popular and safe.

How safe is this procedure, and how many injections do you need?

Anti-wrinkle injections are very safe when used correctly. Our trained therapists will be able to advise you how many sessions you may require. Typically, one session lasts around 3 months. There is some evidence that oral zinc supplements lengthen this time.  There is no limit to the number of injections you can have, however, your body may begin to develop immunity over time. This will render the procedure ineffective.

If I stop having injections, will there be any consequences?

When you stop having injections, eventually the muscle will go back to its original state. No other side effects will occur.

Is this procedure painful?

The injection itself is the only source of potential discomfort. This varies from person to person, however, a small needle will be used to reduce discomfort as much as possible.

Can Botox get rid of wrinkles permanently?

There are no injectables that can get rid of lines and wrinkles permanently, but a series of anti-wrinkle injections can significantly slow down the progression of existing wrinkles. If you have superficial lines here and there, Botox will soften these lines so they become unnoticeable and prevent the deepening of these lines.

Can I get anti-wrinkle injections if I don’t have wrinkles?

Many young individuals in their 20s are getting Botox to halt the formation of wrinkles. If you start early, the anti-wrinkle injection will relax your facial muscles so you won’t form lines at the wrinkle-prone areas such as the forehead, between the brows, and at the corners of the nose and mouth.

What’s the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox works by blocking the contraction of facial muscles, so it can treat and prevent the formation of wrinkles. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, plump the area with hyaluronic acid and other filler ingredients to smoothen lines and wrinkles. Both are safe and effective treatments for wrinkles and skin ageing, but fillers work best for existing wrinkles in areas that also require volume or added fullness. Botox works best for wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions.

Initial Consultation

On the day of your appointment, a trained medical professional will help you determine if an anti-wrinkle injection is a suitable treatment for your skin concern. If you have hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin or a neuromuscular disorder, you may not be eligible for the treatment.

Treatment Details

The treatment involves a series of small intramuscular injections into the affected area. The whole process takes about 30 minutes. Because the needles used for injection are very small, an anaesthetic is not required. Expect pinprick sensations at the injection site, but it will dissipate quickly.

Side effects and contraindications

Some patients reported pain, swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection site. It is also possible to experience headaches after a forehead injection. This will go away on its own.

Recovery

We recommend not to use any facial treatments within 24 hours after the injection. Other than that, you can go back to your daily routine right after treatment. Your lines and wrinkles will not immediately improve because it will take a few days for Botox to take effect. You will notice improvements within 3-10 days that could last up to 4 months.

SOME INFORMATION

Home » Treatments » ENHANCEMENT » Anti-Wrinkle Injection

The anti-wrinkle treatment is a non-invasive procedure that involves a series of small needle injections into the affected muscles. This causes relaxation of the facial muscles, creating a satisfying cosmetic effect as the wrinkles smoothen out. It is a relatively pain-free procedure apart from a mild sensation and potentially some bruising afterward due to the needles but this should settle quickly. The risks are minimal and our injections are only administered by qualified practitioners. A single treatment session takes between 20-30 minutes and the aesthetic appearance of your face is effective for 3-4 months.
